FAQs
Why should I wear a Belly Band?
Wearing a Belly Band after giving birth offers numerous benefits, including:
- Reducing swelling and supporting your belly, waist, and hips
- Easing lower back pain
- Providing comfort and relieving incision pain after a C-section
- Supporting core activation by compressing and holding the abdomen together
- Promoting mobility
- Assisting in the healing of Diastasis Recti (abdominal separation)
- Aiding in pelvic floor recovery
When should I use a Belly Band?
Most moms can start wearing a Belly Band immediately after delivery and continue through their fourth trimester (up to 3 months postpartum). However, we always recommend consulting with your doctor to ensure it fits within your postpartum care plan.
Can I use a Belly Band after a C-Section?
Absolutely!
Belly Bands are beneficial for recovery after major abdominal surgery, including C-sections. They offer external support to the abdominal muscles and the surgical incision, helping to reduce pain and speed up healing.
Generally, it's best to start wearing a Belly Band a few days post-surgery, initially for short periods (1-2 hours), and gradually increasing the duration as you feel comfortable. As always, we recommend consulting with your doctor to ensure it aligns with your postpartum care plan.
How should I wear a Belly Band?
We suggest wearing a Belly Band for a minimum of 4-6 hours per day, with the option to wear it for longer periods, including day and night. Most find its best to use when moving to aid in your mobility.
The ideal fit is snug, exerting consistent pressure on the stomach and top of the hips, while ensuring no impact on breathing, circulation, or discomfort to your ribs. If any discomfort arises, remove the band and consult your doctor.
